Outdoor Family Portrait Mini Session Special

Due to many requests we've decided to hold another weekend for outdoor family portrait mini sessions! Sessions will be 20 minutes long and will be held:

Saturday, June 4th at a local park & Sunday, June 5th at the beach

You receive a disc with the retouched images from the session and a copyright release so you can print them for $250 (plus tax). Due to the popularity of the sessions we'll be collecting a non-refundable $100 deposit at the time of booking. The remainder will be due at the session. We'll also offer 11x14's at the great value of $75 (plus) tax if ordered within 2 weeks of receiving the disc. Sessions are intended for immediate family members. If you'd like to have extended family members included, we'd be happy to accommodate. We'd just need to schedule 2 sessions.

Spring Children's Events & Portrait Packages

We're very excited about our child model search program. As of right now we have 30 children signed up to come in and help us in the next two weeks with some new props and backgrounds that we have for the studio. Many are new faces to our studio and we can't wait to meet them all.

It's shaping up to be a busy spring! We have two other events for children on the schedule for March and April that we're looking forward to.

Vintage Days on Sunday, March 6th - Allow your children to play dress up with an old trunk, hats, neckties, necklaces and heels. We'd love to capture them in all their dress up glory!

Live Bunnies on Saturday-Sunday, April 2nd-3rd - Yes, that's right. We're going to brave little ones and live rabbits too just in time for Easter! We have already begun booking for this special event, so if you would like to get in for this event contact us soon! Due to the popularity of this event, the minimum package price listed below is required as a deposit to confirm your appointment.

Model Search for Children - Newborn thru 8th Grade

Have you been told your child or children are cute enough to be a model? Now you have the opportunity to show everyone they're right! We're excited to announce our children model search program. We're looking for children from newborns through 8th grade to be models for some of our new studio props and backgrounds. The last week of February and the first week of March we'll be offering FREE 20 minutes sessions and photo credit of $25 to any new children to our studio.

The models will be called upon occasionally when we have new props or products in the studio for images to use in promotional materials. Children who have been photographed as part of our hockey or sports leagues ARE still eligible for this as long as they haven't been photographed by us outside of those league settings. Winner for Attitude of Gratitude Contest

We appreciate all those who took the time to submit nominations in our Attitude of Gratitude contest. The stories shared with us were all very touching and many required us to have the Kleenex box handy as we read through them! Just reading the entries made us realize what great people there are in our community living their lives out of the spotlight, but making our world a better place by the lives they live. It was a pleasure to get to read about each person.

Since we wanted the decision to be unbiased we had a committee that didn't know any of the nominees select the winner. They each said the same thing - "It's so hard to choose!"

They ultimately did choose Lyndsey, a 16 year old whose unselfish ways have made an impact on those around her. She has helped to be a caregiver for her single mom through medical difficulties, taking on responsibilities that adults would often find challenging. She has also been a great help with her younger brother that has ADHD. Instead of focusing on herself, she is motivated to do anything she can for her family all in a spirit of love, and looks for ways that she can contribute to her family's well being.

There were several others nominated that we'd also like to recognize for all that they bring to our community.

Sherri and Tim's family has been a shining example of contentment and love. They have shown what family is all about to over a dozen foster children over the years even while struggling with medical problems that prevented them from being able to work and the financial difficulties that brought along. Even in the challenging circumstances they have found themselves in, they are content just being together as a family and living life a day at a time. That sweet spirit has been infused in their children as well.

Kathi has been both an inspiration and God send for her family. She went back to school and became a doctor while raising her family. She graciously allowed members of family to live with her when their living arrangements were uncertain and continued to give of her time by offering childcare for them even while she was battling cancer.

Bobbie lost her mother too soon to cancer and vowed to do whatever she could so that other families wouldn't have to suffer the way her family had. For the past 16 years she has been a driving force in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Lorain County as her way of fighting back against this atrocious disease. The lives she has touched are too numerous to count as she has helped to raise funds for research, offered a hug or held a hand of someone fighting their own battle or been there at the luminary ceremony with survivors to stand with them to say "we will prevail" for another year.

From a young age Shelly became a caretaker of her large family due to her mother's medical issues. Even when grown with a family of her own she still continues to offer herself - her time and her resources with her extended family "all with a smile" and without expectation of anything in return or to even take time for herself. Shelly has also known the heartache of losing her stillborn daughter, but still has been able to see the joy in life and lives hers out in a way which instills admiration and pride in those who know her.

My heart is full just looking back at each of these stories. We hope you'll be as inspired by their stories as we were. May we all live each day with an attitude of gratitude.

New Employee!

Hi! I'm Heidi. That's me in the picture to the left with my husband Bryan and our four children. The picture was taken last fall by Becky. Shortly after that photo shoot Becky and I met and discussed having me join her business. Just about a month ago I finally made the transition, and I'm loving working for Becky! No, I'm not a photographer (I couldn't even come close to the amazing quality of work that she does) - I'm the new marketing, sales, whatever Becky needs at the moment assistant. I was born and raised in Oberlin and several years ago my husband and I returned and built our home on the outskirts of town. We were blessed with the adoption of our sons Eli, Joey and Justin as newborns. Having been touched by adoption I'm a passionate advocate for it. Our daughter Lydia was our little surprise and she completes our family in a special way. With four small children life is always busy, but when I can take some time away I love to escape to the library in our house to read, and in cooler weather, to turn on the fireplace and read while sipping a hot cup of tea. I also enjoy cooking and baking for my family and others. I've been known to crank up the music to sing and dance around the house like a crazy fool with my kids, but typically am more reserved. I couldn't live without chocolate, my daily planner or nap time! It's lovely to meet you.

Oh, and now that I'm on board we're going to be getting more active in our blogging so stay tuned for a fun contest that we'll be posting soon!

A few weeks ago when I made a vow to myself to blog everyday, I said sometimes I would just post a picture. Well, this is it. This is what happens to be sitting on my counter right now. In between Photoshop, Facebook, e-mails, phone calls and laundry I managed to make a batch of cookies. This is what made me happy today. The best part was the look on Taylor's face when he came home from football. It said, "Who are you and what have you done with my mom?".

The Title...

that I was going to put, I didn't put because I wasn't sure how to spell a word...how silly is that?!?! I'm not a great writer and I'm behind in photography sooooo, I don't blog enough! I did want to post something though because I use this sort of as a diary. I received the best compliments tonight and I don't want to forget them.

First of all, everyone knows that the wedding photos are for the brides and usually the grooms could care less. They are interested in one thing and that is the honeymoon! Tonight I was sitting at my little table, working on the computer for the slide show and my groom made a special trip to the back of the room just to tell me thank-you. He thanked me for photographing their wedding...how awesome is that?!?! Does he not know that I am the one thankful that they chose me?

Secondly, before leaving a reception, I like to say good-bye to the bride and groom and both mothers. When I said my farewells tonight to the bride's mom she was so sweet. She said, "Thank you so much. Your pictures were so beautiful! We have been planning this day for a long time and we heard you were the best. We are so glad we hired you because they were right...you are the best."

What an honor it is to be a part of such amazing families on the best day of their lives! It is a privelage that I will never take for granted!!

has begun. Trevor's first game is tomorrow morning and I'm so exciting to be able to see it. I have missed so many games over the years because I shoot weddings almost every Saturday. Well, tomorrow I'm shooting at the Cleveland Botanical Garden tomorrow and the wedding doesn't start until 6:00. We are doing all of the photos before hand but it's still a relatively late day. It should be a beautiful day to have a wedding at the Gardens!!! Congratulations, Karen & James!!

The kitty is making HUGE progress. He is eating like a horse now (finally) and he is actually playing with Noodle. It's been so rewarding. When the judge asked if there was anyone else that had anything to add to the adoption hearing, it was all I could do to jump up and down and add how grateful I was to just be present to witness (and photograph) such an amazing family. My job is not a job...it's a gift. I was too busy wiping my tears...must be PMS.

The Kitty's Still Alive...

The van, not so much. I knew I should have gone back to bed today when I poured the coffee grounds into the Cuisenart before I put the basket in. 45 minutes later and a tablespoon of grounds in the bottom of my cup, I started to wake up.

I was going to spend the whole day enhancing Christen & Drew's wedding pics to post online when my sister called to let me know we better do her maternity pics. She was having strong contractions about 10 minutes apart. I fed the kitty, showered and met with a new bride. While fueling up the van (thankfully only a few gallons) I read a text from her that said to hurry up, the contractions were now 5 minutes apart. She even called to say she was in so much pain, never mind. She would just have George snap a quick shot so baby #3 doesn't feel cheated (like that won't happen anyway). I told her to just wait and I would be there in 10 minutes. We had a 3 minute session and flew out the door.

The nurse checked her, told her to walk the halls for an hour and she'd recheck her. She was 75% effaced and 2 cm dilated. NO LUCK! She said to go home where she's more comfortable and come back when she couldn't take it anymore. I think every pregnant women should experience that for at least one of their pregnancies. I did and it wasn't fun!

Anyhoo...on the way to the hospital my transmission started slipping and I knew I was in trouble. On the way home, I had to pull over and leave it in a church parking lot. I was just telling the boys the other day that I was going to drive that thing until the wheels fall off. Little did I know it would be the next day. After 190,000 miles and a 2 transmissions I think I should let it go...

Which brings me to tomorrow. I have no idea what it has in store for me but I'm hoping to either have a new baby niece, a new vehicle ($4,500 off MSRP), or Christen and Drew's pics posted online....oh and a much healthier kitty!!!

Hurry up Sophia, Evelyn or whatever your name is! I can't wait to see you!!!

What a busy weekend! I just want to say how much I love Doreen & Mitch and their families. Doreen's family flew in from Germany. They spoke VERY little English. I have to say it was quite challenging getting them to pose, in a hurry, how I wanted. I really hope they don't think everyone in America just pushes (literally pushes) people around like that. Maybe I should send them some sort of apology that Doreen could interpret for them. Now that I think about it, her mom smiled at everyone but me...lol!

I almost forgot to post. This is just about the discipline for me so even though it's technically Saturday, it counts. I am just going to share a picture that made me smile the other day.

I was driving down the road and my allergies were KILLING me...I mean, I should NOT have been driving. I'm sure many accidents have been caused by people driving like that. You leave the air conditioning of your house, drive to your destination. By the time you get there, you're feeling your eyes itch and you start sneezing just a bit. Then, like me, you take a portrait session outdoors with ragweed in the air so thick that you'd swear you had a $75 filter over your lense. I'm not really sure how I got home but I do know that about 1/2 mile away I saw these flowers along side of the road and between sneezes and the tears, I managed to turn around and snap a few shots.

I love flowers...

3 Days in a Row

Yay! 3 days of postings in a row! This will be super short as I am very sleep deprived. I'm in the process of editing Christen & Drew's wedding pics from July 27th. These are just a few of my favorite images from their wedding. They were so stinkin' cute and VERY cooperative to try a few new places off the beaten path.

BTW...the kitty is doing well. He seemed to be drooling earlier and Trevor said he thought it had rabies. He went online and read all of the symptoms and "Warrior" seems to have almost all of them. I think they are also symptom of an extremely mal-nourished kitty. We're going to wait it out and see...

Trevor's Big Heart

Wow! I never thought I would be here yesterday when I was writing this blog. About 5:00 yesterday when Trevor came home from Alex's to get ready for football practice, he had the most desperate look on his face I had ever seen. Alex had found this kitty on the side of the road and he was begging me to take it to the vet. He said it was just laying there with flies all around it. Toby warned me not to even look at it but I had to. Trevor is so loving toward Noodle and I really want to nurture his compassionate heart.

When I went down there, the kitty was in a cardboard box crying hysterically. Tonya and I got on our phones and made calls with no luck to different shelters. Thank God for Facebook because a friend (Judy Litten) answered my plea for help and had me bring the kitty over. She showed me how to bottle-feed it and stimulate it to go potty (who knew?).

I checked online and since it has teeth, I would guess it's at least 4 weeks but it only weighs 8 oz., the average size of a 2 week old. It's flea infested...I mean INFESTED! When I gave it a bath, the fleas ran to the only dry spot left, it's face! Such a pitiful sight. I probably picked 50 fleas off of it and there are plenty more to keep us busy for days.

I do have a total saint that might be interested in taking the kitty (Danielle Linden) but I'm not sure what would be best for "Trevor's Big Heart"...

What a Summer!!

It's pretty sad when you remove the "Happy New Year" heading halfway through the month of August. I'm actually not sure it's so bad since it means I've been extremely busy. I am forever thankful for that and for all of my clients/friends that entrust me with their capturing their life's milestones in pictures! It's an honor that I will never take for granted...

I did take a break the other evening to go see "Julie & Julia" with my sister, cousin and aunt. If you haven't seen the movie, it all started with a girl who kept a blog. It did inspire me to start up again. Since Facebook has sucked me in to it's sticky, tangly web, I have not been to my own blog since May.

I am making it a goal to post everyday. It may not be much but I will at least post a "photo of the day" (some of which will be just for me). It may be a wedding, high school senior, baby, my boys, my dog or just a photo of the moldy bread sitting on my counter. Whatever fits my "bi-polar" mood for the day!! One day it might be a shot that just makes me smile on the inside and the next day it might be ...well, you get the idea.

Anyhow, this first picture had me lol as soon as I looked at the back of my camera! Is she not adorable?!?! This is from Erin & Bret Kuhn's wedding. They were the wedding that "almost didn't happen" because the minister saw Erin holding a beer in her hand before the wedding (might I add that Erin doesn't even drink beer) and refused to perform the ceremony. I will save that story for tomorrow's blog...

Anyhow, I'm going to book club this evening (which should be interesting since I haven't completed a book in 7 years...since Photoshop stole my soul). I'll let you know how that goes...

Forever Friends Dock Dogs

This Saturday I had the opportunity to photograph a super cool event out at (Forever Friends) in Grafton. It was the Buckeye Dock Dogs and Open House. These dogs were so much fun to watch! Some of the big dogs couldn't make the leap and then there was this little one that jumped in numerous times. I love the look in her eyes!

When I first have contact with a bride and groom concerning their wedding, the thing it seems they are most interested in is the dvd of images. I completely understand why and I do sell the dvd, but the reason I hate to do that is because your wedding photography is so much more than that. It's kind of like having your wedding at Windows on the River and serving McDonald's food. It might also be compared to wearing a $10,000 designer gown down the isle and having your bridesmaids walk down the isle in blue jeans. It just doesn't make sense.

As a photographer and artist, I go into every wedding trying to out-do myself on the last one. If you don't showcase those images in an album for your friends, family and children someday to enjoy, you're basically ripping yourself off (unless Uncle Tom is photographing your day and you might not want to show those to anyone).

Here a a few samples of wedding album pages, and remember,"bad pictures aren't a good deal at any cost".

The Art of the Cake

This weekend I had the privelage of photographing a cake decorating contest. Wow...these cakes were OFF THE HOOK! There was a special category called "tasting cakes". Of course when we photographed these, it was very important that the slice for the shot was "clean". Needless to say, we had to make a clean cut and...ummm...eat the slice. YUMM-O!

Well, at age 39.8 I am constantly fighting getting old. When the boys wanted to go sledding at Cascade Park yesterday I have to admit I thought "maybe your dad could take you...". I have always loved sledding but for some reason it seems like something I can pass on the older I get.

As soon as we arrived at the park, the boys jumped out and hit the hill without even looking back to see if I had gotten out of the van. I thought "awesome...they said they wanted me to go but maybe I'm off the hook". As I sat in the van answering e-mails on my blackberry I fought intense feelings of guilt. I swore I would never be one of "those" moms. Finally after about 20 minutes Taylor started heading to the van and said he was done...."WHAT? I haven't even gone down yet!!! (trying to sound all like the cool mom)." So as soon as Trevor made it up the hill I said, "let's race", Taylor on one sled and Trevor and I on the one pictured here.

It seemed like all was going well until I realized Trevor was dragging one foot on the ground which proceeded to spin us 180 degrees until we were going down backwards. No problem...I've done that before. What I didn't realize is that some IDIOT had left HALF OF A TRUCK BED LINER they were using to sled down the hill on right at the bottom of the hill.

What I have illustrated in the diagram here is what a normal girl might tatoo on her back (commenly known as a "tramp stamp"). On the other is my new tatoo!!!

I think I'll just accept growing old...

This is what I'm grateful for today...I love the snow!! I had a hard time sleeping in today because Noodle was barking as if a serial killer had ripped the boys to shreds. When I came downstairs she was looking out the window freaked out by a snow covered van. I brushed it off, drove it into the garage and she calmed right down.

Well, as of yesterday I am now into sports photography. It's something I've always done for my boys but now I'm going to actually sell the images. Eveytime I photograph a football game or wrestling tournament I get these great shots but sometimes I don't even know the parents and don't have the time to work on them at home as I'm very busy with portraits and weddings. Now I'm going to do it all right at the wrestling matches. Anyone involved in wrestling knows that in 2 hours your son wrestles for about 2 minutes. It will keep me busy. Wish me luck!

Today I started a gratitude journal. It's so easy to get wrapped up in the negatives of life (especially in today's economy) that we need to make a conscious effort to concentrate on the good things in life. I started by writing down all of the negative things that have consumed my mind for way too long. Now that they are on paper, I don't have to think about them anymore. I am going to just share a couple of things I am grateful for just this morning:

1) My sister just found out she's having a baby!!!! The baby (Vivian) in the post below will be 18 months when she becomes an older sister. And her older brother Sam will be 3.

2) Terry, my neighbour down the street just plowed my drive and walks and I never have to ask. He is truly a gift from God!!

3) I have 2 awesome boys (shown here with my friend Susan and me on New Year's Eve) that make me proud every day!! (a little blury but it was dark, with no flash and handheld).

4) The Browns just hired a new head coach!!

Happy New Year!!

This year in my family the boys and I celebrated "Festivus". For those of you not familiar with the holiday, it was made up by George's dad on Seinfeld. It's celebrated on Dec. 23rd and it's all about NOT buying gifts, airing your grievences and wrestling. I thought it was very appropriate considering we were all sick and had much to complain about. It also happens to be the first year the boys have wrestled (and they're doing fabulously by the way).

Anyhow...we had no Christmas tree this year. We had a festivus pole (which is supposed to be aluminum but we had to make due with what was in the garage) that fit perfectly in our tree stand. Needless to say, we are glad the holidays are over and we really did enjoy each other and realize that there are many people worse off in the world.

Well...I am determined to stick with my New Year's Resolutions, 1 of which is to keep up with blogging. I am starting just by posting a few of my favorite images from the past few months. I've just quickly scanned my files so when I have nothing else to blog about, I'll post more.

I also wanted to wish all of my friends, family and clients a happy and healthy new year!!!

The neighbors seemed really excited to see the new black and white polka dot set from Sam's Club. It's also a great relief I'm sure that I will be covering up with a coat on Noodle's walks ( at least for a few months)

WELL...yesterday I actually did my hair AND wore make-up. Bill was so shocked that he wanted to take my picture. I think he was just hoping that seeing it in print would encourage me to do it more often. Probably not.

Well, Noodle is no longer a fertile puppy and Trevor is devastated as he wanted "little Noodles" running around. FYI for any of you yet to go through this...when they have your dog "under" they go ahead and trim their nails (since it's so easy, even thought they might not need it). Well, when I picked her up they failed to tell me that they did it AND...they trimmed the back right one WAAYYY too short. When I got out of the van after we got home I noticed little drips of blood on the van seat and thought "it must be from the surgery". I checked her out (it seemed fine), cleaned up the van and plopped myself down in photoshop with her on my left leg. About 10 minutes later someone came to the door and when we got up there was blood everywhere from her poor, little baby paw! Boy was Trevor angry!! After a couple pain pills and tranquilizers she seems fine now. They should definately send the parents home with tranquilizers too if they're going to cause such a mess!!! My favorite jeans, the carpet...

Not only did we go through this but I have been sick all week. Although I was able to reschedule appointments, unfortunately some of the production didn't get done as I had hoped. So if I have told any of you 1 week...it might be 2. If I told you 2 weeks...it might be 3. If you're getting anxious and haven't heard from me by Monday feel free to give me a call.

I'm looking forward to an awesome wedding at Kelly's Island this weekend. The weather looks great and the couple is awesome! Congratulations, Butch and Anne!

As I'm sitting here, tears dilluting my morning cup 'o joe, I am reminiscing the good 'ole days. The picture from the first day of kindergarten was taken by none other than "Ms. A", the best kindergarten teacher EVER from the Kindergarten Village.

In our family we regularly do "highs and lows". That is where, in the evening before we go to bed, we tell each other our "high" of the day and our "low" of the day. Watching Taylor ride his bike down the road on his way to his first day of jr. high was both my "high" and "low" of today. What a bittersweet feeling!! The worst part is that I know, in what feels like a year, he will be heading off to college....it goes TOO FAST!

I had to run outside and grab a few pix of Trevor jumping his ramp so he would leave me alone to get my work done. On the very last pass, apparently I didn't put the 2nd ramp far enough away which caused him to smash his face into the handle bars (so he said). After the bleeding stopped, his Grandma informed him that he will probably get 2 black eyes.

On Thursday I snapped this pix of Trevor, my son, while on my way out of the house to photograph a high school senior in Westlake. I always worry that I am spending too much time on photography since I seem to be working about 12 hours a day this time of year.

Just today when we were having lunch a client called. When I came back to the table Trevor said, "Mom, I'm glad not more people know about you." When I asked him what he meant by that he said, "well, if more people knew about you, you wouldn't be able to take care of us and if less people knew about you, you wouldn't be able to take care of us either."

It's so funny he would say that because I just received an e-mail with a client questioning my prices and asking me to drop them. I can honestly say that we are not well-off and just as Trevor said things are in balance. With the time I put into EVERY client's work, I have to charge what I charge so that I can provide for my family. I know there are cheaper photographers out there but there are also much more expensive photographers out there as well.

I just want to thank everyone of you that have given me the opportunity to document your lives!! I truly appreciate you!

My poor Grandma!! The boys and I gave her this camera for Christmas. I thought it would make a perfect gift for 4 reasons.

1) We are the only Grandkids that never give her a gift at Christmas (for years!).

2) She lost her camera in a flood and I miss the pictures that she took at all of our gatherings.

3) I don't want to take pictures at the family gatherings.

4) She is 87 years old and I really want to spend more time with her. I thought it would push me to get together with her more often. My goal was once a month...I even have her scheduled into my palm pilot on repeat every month.

WELL...These photos were taken on Mother's Day. She has yet to see them. And she won't even see them here since she can't download Micro Media Flash at the "Village".

My poor Grandma is like the kid in the commercials that's stuck diving off the diving board but never gets to see it in print because it's stuck on the camera or in the computer.

I am putting this in print as the "blog of shame" to motivate me. The next time you see me feel free to nag me about getting these 2 and 100 other pictures to my Grandma (unless your name is "Marilyn",you are also in these pictures and you're still bugging me for vacation pix from last year).

I am so proud of my Mom! She has started a new business ( as if 40 years of running her own business wasn't enough). She has recently retired and taken up knitting again!

In an effort to market some of her pieces, we are in desperate need of models. My poor niece and my Mom's neighbour were kind enough to model a few things but they can't take it anymore with the child labor laws what they are!!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to photograph "Aunt Bea" and her family. Aunt Bea is a 12 year old Jack Russell. She was the winner of the Friendship APL cutest pet contest and chose yesterday to redeem her prize from Studio 60 Portraits. Thankfully the rain held off and we were able to squeeze in the most adorable photos. I was a little nervous. I don't usually get nervous anymore but if you're familiar with "Jack Russells" you know why. My friend once had one and they hung a mobile on their ceiling fan so their lovely dog could jump up and play with it. We were entertained for hours. Fortunately Bea is a little older and calmer. It sort of felt like I was photographing a 2 year old (no offense to my nephew Sam).

I just wanted to share a couple events that I'm so bummed that I will miss. First of all, one of my FAVORITE food establishments in Lorain County is the ever so popular Church St. Bar and Grill in Amherst. I LOVE their BBQ double baked wings and fresh cut fries.

Tip of the day

One of my clients was here the other day placing her order for baby portraits. She was talking about how important her photographs were to her. She said she just doesn't splurge on anything except for portraits of her children.

As we were talking I mentioned how everytime you hear about a home fire, besides the family/pets, the most important thing that a family might lose are the photographs. Think about it...if your house burned to the ground, would you miss your t.v. or your couch? Would you miss your clothes or your dishes? All of those things are meaningless. The one thing you would miss would be your pictures (both amateur and professional). They are memories kept alive by little pieces of paper.

Which brings me to the wonderful thing she does! She keeps the actual photographs at her house and the takes the negatives/cd's to her parent's house. What a great idea! With very little effort you could save yourself from a lot of unnecessary loss.

Wow...What a year!

Let me start by saying Thank you to all of my wonderful clients! I lOVE photography and if it weren't for you, Becky's Photography wouldn't exist. I have a few announcements to make...

First let me say that the "Friendship Animal Protective League" is having a fundraiser this weekend and it's not too late to enter your pet in the photo contest. Just take a photo and $5 there and enter your adorable pet. Which leads me to my next announcement...

For the first time I was able to enter because we finally have a pet (besides a hermit crab). The newest addition to our family is "Noodle". She is a 4 month old Bichon Frise. I bought her for Taylor and Trevor for Christmas but by the time they met her, she was already named and sporting a "sparkling" pink collar. Sorry boys! Here is her adorable pix...

We also have another addition to our family...A NEW STUDIO!!! I'm so excited and will blog with the details next week. Bill and I are going to Professional Photographers Of America for the next 4 days to learn the in's and out's of running a retail studio...wish us luck!!

I love this time of year! The leaves are so beautiful and the temps are perfect (for me anyway). Yesterday evening we got together with Dave & Joey to photograph their engagement portraits. I didn't tell my boys what we were doing because I knew it wouldn't take too long and we were going to the park where they can play and run around. They ended up catching this crawfish! It was huge!

Thanks Dave for being such a good sport and posing on playground equipment! Joey, you have a keeper! Sorry Trevor, that your crawfish wasn't so lucky!

The good 'ol days...

Just this afternoon my mom was over looking through the family photo files. I'm sure she was looking for the last family vacation pictures...Seabrook Island...the long lost pictures...you know the ones exactly 1 month ago. They try not to harp on me about seeing them (I'm sure they don't realize that I have 6 weddings to post and 7 albums to assemble). When I got home this evening, this was the picture on my computer.

Since this picture was taken (last june) Taylor has grown as tall as me and Trevor's hair is as long as mine...yada,yada,yada. I'll post the last "VACA PIX" tomorrow...I promise.

In the meantime, I didn't realize that as the boys are growing, so is their appetite! They let me know that am not cooking enough meals for them (as I brought them McDonalds at 9 p.m.)

As a result I am holding my 1st contest....drum roll please...

1st day of school!

Yea!!! School has started. Taylor and Trevor switched back to the public school and I am very excited. Not only can they ride their bikes but they are home for an extra 2 hours everyday.

Trevor said that he really didn't feel like the "new kid" since he already new about 30 kids in the 3rd grade.

I'm very excited about working out again with my friend Barb. I took the summer off and have a lot of catching up to do. She is an animal!

I've never posted images from our vacation (which was unbelievable). There are too many to pix. I will post them soon with rental information on Seabrook.

Vacation Time!

This is how I feel about not working for almost 2 weeks!! I love photography...just need to recharge :-)

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be gone Thursday August 2nd until Tuesday August 14th. I'm so excited! 4 generations of my family will be staying just south of Charleston in a beautiful home at Seabrook Island. I am so thankful to the family ( I've had the wonderful opportunity to photograph both daughters' weddings ) for extending this invitation to us.

Believe it or not, the time is now. If you are going to be a senior next year, now is the time to have your senior portraits taken. I agree that it seems early, but once you start back to school scheduling is next to impossible. Between sports, work and school your year will fly by.

Every year I have seniors calling to have their pictures taken in April or May before graduation. While it can be done, it adds way to much stress to you and your parents. That is why I am offering a senior special for the month of July.

I love weddings!

This weekend I had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of Heather and Tom. They were a great couple! It's so exciting to be back into the swing of things. This was the start of a big season that I'm really looking forward to.

I have to mention that if anyone tried to e-mail me yesterday...I didn't get it. Sorry. Somehow all my e-mails are GONE!! Please retry...

Help! I need help!! Everyday my son, Trevor, comes home with more colors on his shirt than a box of Crayola crayons. I thought sending them to a school that required uniforms was a great idea...WRONG!! I had visions of military school students with their polished black shoes, shirt tucked in with a nice black belt.

I want to know...where did I go wrong?!?!?

If there's ANY advice out there...I need it.
